A poplar success story: visit from the ASLGFVM
Visit from the ASLGFVM to JOUBERT Plywood: a success story. The story of the Association Syndicale Libre de Gestion Forestière de la Vallée du Mignon (Forestry Management Association of Val-du-Mignon) is one worth telling. In 1999, storm Lothar ravaged across 21 hectares of agricultural land. The sixty or so landowners concerned set up this association to clean up their land and replant approximately 4,000 trees under the supervision of CNPF (National Forest Ownership Centre) technicians. Today, due to this this long-term work and supported by a strong desire of owners to revive their poplar groves, JOUBERT Plywood is able to source blocks of quality poplar to locally manufacture its plywood in France. The sector continues to work closely together inspired by the ASLGFVM’s replanting programme!
